Craydl Designer Capture — Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 28, 2026
This Chrome extension (“Craydl Designer Capture”) is published by CRAYDL Inc. and is used by interior designers to capture product specifications from vendor websites and save them as material selections in their CRAYDL projects.
What the extension does
When you start a capture session from the CRAYDL web app and visit a vendor or manufacturer page, the extension reads product information from the current page (such as product title, image URL, price, SKU, dimensions and the page URL) and lets you save that information to a specific job, room, and material slot in your CRAYDL account.
The extension does not run any background analysis of pages you visit. It only reads page contents when you actively use it via the side panel (opening the panel, clicking the click‑to‑capture picker, or starting a BIM/Revit harvest).
What we collect
The extension processes the following information, exclusively to deliver its core feature (saving a material selection to your CRAYDL account):
- Product data you choose to capture: page URL, product name, image URL, price, SKU/model number, finish, dimensions, BIM/Revit file URL where applicable.
- Authentication token from your CRAYDL session, used to authorize API calls to your CRAYDL backend on your behalf. The token is read either from a cookie on
*.craydl.com/*.craydl-app.comor from data passed in by the CRAYDL web app when you launch a capture session. - Selection context (job ID, room, material type) you have chosen in CRAYDL, kept in Chrome session storage so the side panel remembers which slot you are filling. Cleared automatically after 4 hours.
We do not collect:
- Browsing history or a list of websites you visit.
- The contents of pages other than the data you explicitly capture.
- Personally identifiable information beyond what is already in your CRAYDL account (e.g., your name and email, used only to authenticate to your CRAYDL backend).
- Financial or payment information.
- Health, location, or any other category of personal data.
How data is used
Captured product data is sent over HTTPS to the CRAYDL backend at https://testopsdashboard.craydl.com (or another CRAYDL‑controlled endpoint configured by your CRAYDL deployment) and stored in your CRAYDL account so you can review, edit, or include it in proposals.
Authentication tokens are used solely to authorize requests to the CRAYDL backend on your behalf. They are stored in Chrome’s session storage and discarded when the browser session ends.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share captured data, authentication tokens, or any other extension data with third parties. Data sent by the extension goes only to CRAYDL’s own backend, which is governed by CRAYDL’s main privacy policy.
Permissions justification
activeTab— read product data only from the page you are currently viewing, only when you invoke a capture.sidePanel— show the capture UI in Chrome’s side panel.storage— keep your active capture context (job, room, material) and session token across page navigations within the same browser session.cookies— read theaccess_tokencookie set by CRAYDL when you are logged in to*.craydl.com/*.craydl-app.com, so the extension can authenticate to the CRAYDL backend on your behalf without asking you to sign in again.downloads— when you start a BIM/Revit harvest from a vendor page, intercept the resulting.rfa/.rvt/.zipdownload so the file URL can be uploaded to your CRAYDL account instead of landing in your local Downloads folder. No other downloads are inspected or modified.- Broad host permissions and the
<all_urls>content script match are required because vendor catalogs span many domains. The content script is passive on every page and only reads the DOM when you trigger a capture from the side panel.
Retention
- Authentication token: lives in Chrome session storage and is cleared when you close the browser, and proactively after 4 hours of inactivity.
- Selection context: same lifetime as the authentication token.
- Captured product data: retained in your CRAYDL account per CRAYDL’s main retention policy. Removing the extension does not delete data already saved to your account.
Your choices
You can uninstall the extension at any time from chrome://extensions. You can revoke its access to a site by clicking the extension icon and choosing “This can read and change site data → When you click the extension.” To delete material selections already saved to your CRAYDL account, use the CRAYDL web app or contact CRAYDL support.
